Detective Macdonald

WALT write a summary

Last week Detective Macdonald came and talked to our class and we had to take notes....

Growing Up
Growing up in Scotland was a lot different than it is here in new Zealand 2010’s. Whereas our primary only goes up to year 6 their primary goes from year 1 - 7. As a young boy, Detective Macdonald had three hobbies that really inspired him to pursue them. Weirdly, he wanted to be a Football (Soccer) player, an archaeologist and of course a cop.

Police Force
Detective Macdonald hasn’t always been a detective. To become a detective, you have to be a Constable for at least 2 ½ years. Detective Macdonald first started off as a policemen in London. Then a detective in London.

New Zealand
After five years working in London Detective Macdonald got selected to be a detective in New Zealand. Willingly, he took the job and moved his family to New Zealand. Joyfully, Detective Macdonald traveled all over new Zealand before settling into the Kaitaia police force.

Detective
To be a detective it requires much more qualifications then a constable. You see detectives deal with much more serious stuff such as homicides, suicides, and kidnaps. Another difference between constables and detectives is that constables deal with cases that can cause people to go to jail for up to 10 years. Whereas a detective deal with cases that cause people to go to jail for over 10 years.
